Material Selection & Design Confirmation

The OEM process starts with confirming the product design, dimensions and materials. ZIAX offers common material options:

UF (Urea-Formaldehyde) - high hardness, glossy finish, scratch resistance, often used for a premium look.

PP (Polypropylene) - light, durable and cost-effective; typically made by injection molding.

MDF / Wood - used for specific market preferences or premium product lines.

Design confirmation includes mounting hole spacing, hinge type, seat thickness, and any quick-release or soft-close requirements. ZIAX engineers produce 2D drawings and 3D models for approval before tooling.

Injection Molding vs Compression Molding

Production method depends on material choice:

PP seats - produced by injection molding. Advantages: fast cycle, stable thickness control.

UF seats - produced by compression molding. Advantages: high hardness and glossy surface.

Key steps: material heating, mold filling, cooling, demolding. Process controls focus on temperature, pressure and cycle time to ensure consistency.

Surface Treatment & Finishing

After molding, parts go through finishing:

Trimming and burr removal

Edge smoothing and polishing

Cleaning and optional UV or protective coating

UF seats commonly require additional polishing to achieve a ceramic-like gloss.

Hinge Options & Assembly

Hinges impact the user experience and lifetime of the seat. ZIAX supplies and assembles:

Soft-close hinges with damping mechanisms

Quick-release hinges for easy cleaning

Stainless steel or zinc-alloy hinge bases for corrosion resistance

Assembly includes torque calibration, damping tests and functional checks to meet lifecycle requirements.

Trial runs

Trial runs and adjustment.

Typical lead time for a new mold:

25–45 days, depending on complexity and required surface finish.

Quality Control & Testing

ZIAX enforces QC at every stage. Typical tests include:

Test Item Purpose Common Standard
Load-bearing test Ensure structural strength 150–200 kg
Soft-close lifecycle Damper durability 30,000–50,000 cycles
Chemical resistance Surface stability vs cleaning agents Cleaning agent test
Color consistency Uniform appearance Visual inspection + colorimeter

Branding & Packaging

ZIAX provides flexible OEM branding options:

Laser-etched or printed logos

Customized retail boxes and user manuals

Complete installation kits (bolts, covers, bumpers)

Packaging is engineered to protect seats during long-distance sea freight and air cargo.
